“Where Art, Nature and History Meet”
Discover for yourself the stories of Michigan’s cultural and natural history brought to life through art. This 30-acre wooded preserve offers an art experience and hiking trail that is uniquely “northern Michigan”.
The forty-plus sculptures in the permanent collection, as well as the juried entry gallery exhibit, and poetry stones placed throughout the park connect visitors to the shared cultural and natural history. Michigan Legacy Art Park is a sculpture park dedicated to sharing the stories of the people, events and natural resources that continue to shape the legacy of Michigan. Contemporary artists interpret these stories through outdoor sculpture. With over 40 great works of art, the Art Park provides a rich cultural experience for thousands of visitors annually.
Hundreds of area students visit the art park on school field trips every day. Michigan Legacy Art Park’s ‘Looking to Learn’ resources help teachers integrate the park trip with classroom learning in math, science, and history.
