Orchard Beach State Park

Why it’s great for the first time hiker…

It is a very well marked trail and has 4 loop segments. So you can be out on the trail for a half hour to 1.5 hours+ There are also benches along the way and the trail runs fairly flat until getting into the outer most loop.

Best segment(s) for a 2 hours or less hike

The entire area can be hiked in under two hours. No biking allowed.

Trail Description

A great hike for the casual hiker and family. With 4 loop options running at numeric markers along the intersection points, your hike can range from 0.5 miles, 1.0 miles, 1.4 miles and 2.5 miles. Quick and scenic with many information stations along the trails. Learn about the natural history of the State Park and Manistee County shoreline. This is also a great spot for a morning cross country ski in the winter months. The nature trails are part of the state park, therefore a state park passport is required. You can obtain a pass at the ranger station in the park.
