Lake Michigan Recreation Area
Why it’s great for the first time hiker & biker…
The Lake Michigan Recreation Area is great for first time hikers and bikers. These trails are fairly flat and easy going. The loops is only about 3.5 miles long and can be completed in under an hour if moving at a swift pace. This is an ideal spot to bring the entire family for a walk, or ride and you can enjoy a dip in Lake Michigan after.

Trail Description
North of Ludington, just outside the county lines on West Forest Trail Road off of Quarterline Road. There are many rustic campsites, great picnic/ playground areas, Lake Michigan beach access and challenging hiking/ mountain bike trails in this area, as well as a 20+ mile foot trail network at Nordhouse Dunes.
